MACS3 Loading Computer System



The MACS3 Training Course for Container Vessels is designed for:

- students at maritime academies working on a certificate as a Navigational Watchkeeping Officer or higher

- experienced mariners and other persons with responsibilities in cargo operations.

The aim of this course is to provide training for using the loading computer system MACS3 for Container Vessels.

The following competencies will be gained and evaluated:

· Stability and strength

· Cargo handling

· Cargo stowage

· Cargo lashing

· Dangerous goods.

It is assumed that those who enter this course are familiar with cargo operations on container vessels and have knowledge of stability theory and longitudinal strength calculations for vessels. Participants should also be familiar with standard computer handling and software interfaces.

Upon successful completion of the course you will have an overview of the range of functions in the loading computer system MACS3 and be able to handle typical loading conditions and judge them with respect to safety-relevant aspects like stability and stress situation of the vessel, pre-plan ballast operations, produce loading and discharge, reefer and dangerous goods (DG) lists for cargo watch, produce all required reports on stability and strength, produce all required cargo related reports, receive necessary information on dangerous goods in case of emergency, customize the user interface of the system to suit your needs, use the user manual to go in depth for special functions.



INSTALLATION

  1. Download the Files
  2. Make sure the simulator files are fully downloaded to your computer. We recommend saving them to your Desktop or Downloads folder for easy access.
  3. Open the Setup File
  4. Inside the extracted folder, look for install.exe.
  5. Double-click the file to start the installation.
  6. If Windows shows a security prompt, click Yes or Run to continue.
  7. Follow the Installation Steps
  8. Click Next until installation is complete.
  9. Leave default settings unless instructed otherwise.
  10. Finish & Launch
  11. Once installation is done, click Finish.
  12. You can now open the simulator from the Desktop icon or Start Menu.
